The Stylesmiths were engaged to deliver a complete residential interior design for this two-bedroom apartment in Collingwood — one of Melbourne’s most vibrant inner-city suburbs. Designed for a creative couple, the brief called for a colour-rich, industrial-style apartment inspired by the local artistic neighbourhood vibe. The clients — along with their dog and cat — wanted a space that reflected their bold personalities, love of art, and appreciation for bespoke design.
Our Melbourne interior designers reimagined the living room, hallway, winter garden (sunroom), master bedroom and guest bedroom. The scope included furniture procurement, wall finishes, custom lighting, curated art placement, soft furnishing selections and rug customisation.
A palette of soft pinks, moody blues and natural tones was drawn from the clients’ existing art collection, guiding the emotional tone of the home. To enhance spatial flow and create a striking visual feature, we proposed tiling a curved column in the winter garden, adding tactility and material depth.
As part of working in a new apartment development, we liaised with the original builders to relocate a poorly placed intercom system — freeing the only living room wall suitable for a statement artwork.
From bespoke detailing to layered styling, this Melbourne home design reflects everything The Stylesmiths stand for — human-centred, creative and beautifully considered interiors.
