The Stylesmiths were hired to create a bespoke interior for the clients of this Toorak Mansion. The brief was to warm up the interior and help play down large expanses of marble and highly glossed feature timber panels that were inherited from the previous owners which made it feel very cold and uninviting. The clients like to entertain and lead a very international lifestyle and love for unique design. Lead interior designer Alice, wanted the interior to reflect them as people and make it easy to facilitate their day to day lives.
It was extremely important to our clients to have someone that didn’t dictate a style but rather nurtured and brought to life a bespoke interior in a truly collaborative way. We felt that the existing interior really called for the use of luxurious and opulent furniture and furnishings whilst also bringing in warmth with textures and great art allowing for Alice to push the boundaries of “safe” design.
We really played with the concept of masculine sophistication and glamour. Alice wanted it to reflect our clients and their international lifestyle. It also celebrates design and features some extraordinarily pieces not really seen in Australia.
