Blakey Apartment is a thoughtfully restored heritage apartment in Melbourne, redesigned by The Stylesmiths to maximise light, functionality and timeless style within a compact footprint. Located inside the historic 1902 Princess May Pavilion building, the apartment blends contemporary interior design with original architectural charm, creating a calm and elegant home that honours its heritage character.
The interior palette combines earthy tones, warm timber flooring and crisp white finishes to create a light-filled and inviting atmosphere. Expansive walls and carefully layered textures help amplify the apartment’s natural light, while bronze fixtures and curated furnishings introduce warmth and understated luxury throughout the interiors.
Originally configured as a student share house, the apartment was completely reimagined to better suit modern living. The mezzanine level was transformed into a bespoke home library and study, complete with custom joinery, built-in shelving and a structurally engineered desk overlooking the living spaces below. Soft tartan upholstery and tailored furniture create a cosy retreat within the open-plan layout.
