The Grosvenor House renovation is a thoughtful blend of heritage character and contemporary family living. Following a modern rear extension, The Stylesmiths were engaged to bring warmth, personality and cohesion to the newly renovated Melbourne home, creating interiors that seamlessly connect the original architecture with the contemporary addition.
Designed for a busy family with young children, the project focused on creating functional and inviting spaces that felt vibrant, comfortable and tailored to everyday life. Through a full-service residential interior design approach, The Stylesmiths curated furniture, floor coverings, artwork, wall finishes and home décor to establish a cohesive design direction throughout the home.
Colour played a central role in shaping the interiors. Rich reds, deep blues and soft black accents were layered against refined built-in joinery and contemporary finishes to create relaxed yet sophisticated living spaces. Carefully selected rugs and floor coverings ground each room, while personal artwork, family photography and collected objects bring warmth and individuality to the interiors.
The hallway and transitional spaces were designed with the same attention to detail, incorporating abstract artwork, soft window furnishings and a custom seating nook designed for quiet family moments. Throughout the home, the balance between functionality and aesthetics ensures every space supports modern family living while reflecting the clients’ personality and lifestyle.
