Heritage Limestone Residence | Luxury Residential Interior Design

This heritage limestone residence is a refined example of contemporary Australian interior design, where historic architecture and modern living exist in seamless harmony. Designed in collaboration with Di Bartolo Architects, The Stylesmiths transformed the 19th-century home into a luxury retreat that celebrates its original character while introducing warm, sophisticated interiors tailored to modern family life.

Natural limestone walls, arched architectural forms and handcrafted finishes create a timeless foundation throughout the home. These heritage elements are softened through the use of warm timber detailing, X-Bond micro cement, linen textures and curated ceramics, creating interiors that feel calm, layered and effortlessly liveable. Every material was selected to enhance the way natural light moves through the spaces, bringing warmth and softness to the home’s contemporary design palette.

The open-plan living and dining areas connect seamlessly to a sculptural kitchen designed for both entertaining and everyday living. Custom joinery, natural stone surfaces and considered material selections elevate the interiors while maintaining a relaxed and understated atmosphere. Bedrooms and bathrooms continue the same refined language, combining tactile finishes and bespoke detailing to create intimate spaces that feel restorative and luxurious.

At the centre of the home, a curved colonnade frames a tranquil courtyard and pool area, strengthening the connection between indoor and outdoor living. Mediterranean-inspired arches, natural stone and shaded outdoor spaces create a resort-like feel while remaining deeply connected to the home’s heritage roots.

This project reflects The Stylesmiths’ approach to luxury residential interior design, balancing architectural preservation with contemporary comfort, natural materials and timeless Australian living. The result is a heritage home that feels both grounded in history and designed for the future.
