Inspired by the glamour and creative energy of Paris during Les Années Folles — the “Crazy Years” of the 1920s, Wildgrain Eatery was designed by The Stylesmiths as a hospitality space that feels timeless, layered and effortlessly welcoming. Blending Art Deco influences with a relaxed coastal aesthetic, the venue captures the atmosphere of a well-loved European café while remaining deeply connected to the Mornington Peninsula landscape.
The interior design palette draws directly from the surrounding coastal environment, combining soft lime-washed finishes, crisp whites and layered shades of eucalypt green inspired by native Australian bushland. These natural tones create a calm and inviting atmosphere that transitions seamlessly from morning coffee to evening dining, a key consideration in successful hospitality interior design.
The elongated eatery has been thoughtfully zoned to create different experiences throughout the day. Bright front and rear dining areas maximise natural light and feel open and airy during breakfast and lunch service, while the central banquette seating wrapped in rich green tones offers a more intimate atmosphere for evening dining. Lush indoor planting and strategically placed mirrors soften the interiors and visually connect the open kitchen with the dining spaces, enhancing the sense of warmth and flow throughout the venue.
Art Deco detailing, vintage-inspired furnishings and layered textures bring depth and character to the interiors, creating a restaurant space that feels collected rather than overly styled. The result is a refined yet approachable venue that balances timeless design with contemporary coastal dining.
Wildgrain Eatery reflects The Stylesmiths’ expertise in restaurant and café interior design, creating hospitality spaces that combine atmosphere, functionality and strong storytelling through interiors.
